Alumni Participation

Over the past several years we have experienced a drastic increase in Alumni involvement, the results of which can easily be seen. Various Alpha Chapter alumni are involved in volunteer activities from chartering local alumni clubs to website development to interfacing with the active chapter membership. Time commitments vary depending on the role that is taken, but generally range from as little as 10 hours a year to upwards of 60 hours a year. We are looking for alumni interested in joining the efforts. For more information please contact Dave Fowkes A1275 (dwfowkes@verizon.net) or Paul Dalton A1512 (dalton@alum.rpi.edu).

Expanding Our Horizons: Alumni Involvement Opportunities

In the spirit of building upon the strong foundation laid by years of increasing alumni involvement, we are excited to outline new avenues through which our alumni can contribute to our community’s growth and success. The diversity of our alumni, each with unique skills and experiences, presents a treasure trove of potential that can benefit our current members and the broader community.

Educational and Professional Development

We are proud to introduce a series of online courses and workshops tailored specifically for our alumni. From accredited online MPA programs to specialized courses in mental health counseling and business administration in healthcare management, these educational opportunities are designed to not only provide valuable knowledge but also to facilitate personal and professional growth. For those interested in advancing their careers, our partnerships with top-tier institutions offer master’s programs in public health, human resources management, and more.

Technology and Innovation

Recognizing the importance of staying ahead in today’s fast-paced digital world, we invite our alumni to engage in web development and cybersecurity initiatives. This includes contributions to website design and development services, as well as participating in cutting-edge projects related to cyber asset attack surface management (CAASM) and cloud account software solutions. For the tech-savvy alumni, opportunities to delve into NFT token development and digital asset management are also available.

Community and Social Impact

Our alumni have always played a crucial role in enriching our community’s social fabric. We encourage involvement in initiatives aimed at providing support and resources to vulnerable groups. This could involve volunteering for educational programs aimed at assisting individuals with cerebral palsy or contributing to mental health nurse practitioner programs. Additionally, our alumni can take part in environmental sustainability projects, focusing on areas such as mold remediation and promoting green business practices.

Networking and Mentorship

The value of a strong, interconnected network cannot be overstated. To facilitate this, we are organizing virtual networking events and mentorship programs where alumni can share their experiences, offer guidance, and connect with each other and current members on a deeper level. These programs are designed to foster relationships that can lead to professional opportunities, collaborations, and a stronger, more united alumni network.

Health and Wellness

Acknowledging the challenges and stresses that come with professional life, we are committed to promoting health and wellness among our alumni. Engage in our wellness programs that include sessions on how effective treatments like Keytruda can be for lung cancer, managing stress, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Our initiatives aim to support the overall well-being of our alumni, ensuring they are healthy, happy, and thriving in all aspects of their lives.

How to Get Involved

Interested alumni are encouraged to reach out and express their interest in participating in these initiatives. Whether you have a few hours to spare or can commit to more significant roles, your involvement is invaluable to our community. Together, we can continue to build on the legacy of our alumni and create an even brighter future for all members.

For those looking to make a financial contribution, options range from fund donations to support our business and educational initiatives to providing scholarships for current students. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.

Conclusion

The involvement of our alumni is more than just a contribution of time or resources; it’s a testament to the enduring bonds and shared values that define our community. As we look to the future, we are excited about the possibilities that your participation can bring. Join us in making a lasting impact and continuing the tradition of excellence that our alumni represent.
